The very first thing to consider before getting a reading with me or anyone else is be completely open. I do understand the natural sense of skepticism because of the nature of this business but realize that skepticism can put up a bit of curtain up for the reader. Prior to the reading, asking your guides, angels or higher self to give you the information you need to continue on your path. This can be done through meditation, journaling, or simply sitting quiet and being open to the silence.

Having questions ready for the reading is important as well. This will assist you in receiving the clarity you would like regarding matters in your life. With that being said, sometimes we do not receive those answers because it is either not the time or it may not be the direction you are heading but remember to be open to hear that information too. You may record the session or take notes. This will allow you to remember tools or actions that come up for you. Lastly enjoy the experience!

We all have blocks and old patterns that we would like to be rid of. The question we face is…. Is it a block or is it our make-up? This is a hard question to decipher. We look at the idea people, the detail oriented people, the worker bees, the executers, and everything in between. Some of our faults we need to look at as a benefit, to work them and by collaborating with others to make things happen in our lives. The old patterns that continue to hurt our progress and stop us from moving forward on our path are what need to be investigated and erased.

We all have old blocks and patterns we would like to rid ourselves of. There are many ways to work on those patterns. The reason for this, every one relates to things different as well as each block or pattern is stuck in a different way. Trying different ways to release can be so helpful to rid yourself of patterns that no longer suit you. In some cases, one healing process may not work on the issue at hand but disconnect another one. The bottom line is healing and release of a behavior or thought that does not suit you.
The first question you have to ask yourself, what do want to work on first? It is sometimes easier to tackle the smaller issues first but at times they can all be linked to one grand issue, almost like a root system of a plant. I have often been shown during readings to have the person make a list of issues they want to work on and rate them.

The second question is, am I truly ready to release this issue? Looking at this question very honestly is important. If you are not completely ready to work on the issue then you will not succeed. You have to be ready for that uncomfortable feeling you will get moving into another energy vibration. Even when we know in our mind this is the highest and best for us, it is difficult to move into a different vibration because our body is not used to idling at this new speed. Our mind will also try to trick us into thinking it will be more painful to move into the new space instead of staying in the painful place we have been in for years. Our mind often works in such a way of pain vs. worse pain. Also when you think you are ready, other things may come up to move you away from the important work needed.

The third question is how do you rid yourself of the behavior or pattern? This is obviously the tricky one to answer. There may be numerous answers because it has multiple layers to remove. Be open to what comes up for this answer. It could be as simple as diligent work. Our lives are in constant motion so it can be difficult to focus for more than 3 days or even a week on one thing so we lose momentum and focus. Even making a conscience effort of asking the universe to remove, release and expel the pattern from your being for one complete month can help. This is the question that may require some outside help.
Putting the energy out there that you are truly open to remove these blocks is a huge step in itself. There are so many resources available these days, just figuring out what your comfortable working with is a first step to success. Look forward to the movement and healing!

I know change is hard for many people and I focus on working slow changes with those clients. If
you only want an inch off, that is what you get. I have compassion and give them the time they need
to move into change. I take pleasure in the joy people feel getting their hair done. You may be feeling
frumpy or just in a lull, but a new hairdo can change that in a mere couple hours. I like to see the stress
melt away from people as they sit in my chair and just relax.

All hair services will begin with your hair story. By listening to your story, I can see where you have
been and where you would like to go. We may talk about the products you use or may need to create
the look you want. We talk about how you style your hair and if they may be another way or to keep up
the good work. I will take a different approach with each head because everyone has different needs. I
do many haircuts on dry hair because I am able to see how the hair lays most of the time. Curly hair has
a different approach and it depends on the type of curl and texture of the hair. My daughters have a mix
of Caucasian and African American hair so I deal with the best of the best with curls daily.

I feel the scalp massage is one of the most important parts of your hair service. This allows you to fully
relax and enjoy the rest of the service. It will melt away the stresses of the day if only for the time you
are in the shampoo bowl. I want my clients to feel at home when they are in my chair. They will sip
yummy tea or get refreshed with a drink of mint-infused water. In the evening, wine is available to take
the edge off the day.

When choosing a style or color for a client, I take into consideration face shape, coloring, and lifestyle.
We will talk about what you do and don’t like about your current hairdo and then what you do at home.
This will help to decide what will work best for your hair and your everyday life.

There are many healing modalities out there to suit every single person in the world. Many treat the same problems but do not work for everyone. That is why I believe there are so many options out there. There truly is something for everyone. Some are more “woo woo” than others but I am sure they have all worked for someone. It is about what your body will accept or what your mind believes will work for your body. I do believe in the science of healing as well as the mental aspect. I also understand that some things are not able to be cured at this time but there are options to help with symptoms of the disease or problem.

I have dealt with a auto immune disease for the last three years. It has changed my outlook on the healing process in many ways. I was forced to see that it is not just physical but mental as well as environment. I became so compromised from my disease that I would catch any cold/flu or sniffle that came my way. I tried every drug out there and NOTHING worked, so I opened my mind to what came my way.

I am still not sure exactly what put my body into remission. I tried numerous things but one thing I did learn through the search was the mental root of the problem and how it truly was ruining me. I have control issues and it was time to deal with them, along with the physical symptoms I was faced with daily. I tried everything from western meds, shamans, bodytalk, and acupuncture to name a few. These options helped open my eyes to many things about myself and my disease. It took all of them to get me where I am today. For me, it was about using ALL the tools and not just relying on one. This is why I believe it is important to try many things and know that they can add up to success. You may be one of the lucky ones that gets a fix with just one modality.

I ask you to acknowledge anything that comes your way as far as healing and getting healthy. I believe the universe sends us options that we can accept or just push away. Have an open mind about the progress that can happen when being aware of other healing options for you or your loved ones. Some things may work or they may not, but the point is, you are putting forth the energy to help fix the problem or symptoms of the ailment. By being open, you are asking the universe, God, or whatever you believe in to help. This itself is huge in the progress of healing. So the next time you hear about a random healing process or miracle drug, be open and do your research.

My mother took me to see an astrologer for the first time at a psychic fair in a hotel conference room. The astrologer was this white hair woman that has clearly been smoking for years. She had a very nuturing feeling to her but straight to the point. She was able to pin point some many things that had happened already in my young life, she then went on about events things that happened years later including my path to become reader. She was truly gifted. I still have the cassette tape that I listen to occasionally when it turns up after moving.

I believe readings are a helpful tool to keep me on my path or a confirmation of thoughts and feelings I already have about a situation. I look at it as therapy except you don’t have to go into your whole story to get answers you need. I have gone to see a psychic or astrologer when I am in transition or just completely clueless to which direction to go. Many times, I know the answer and just confirming that is the direction I should head.

I have gone to see many different types of readers including the “Psychic Reader” in neon. I usually try to stick with someone I have found to be accurate in prior readings and our personalities click. I prefer the straight to the point readings without the sugar coatings.

I always feel better after a reading because it usually gives me something to work on. It also gives me something to look forward to, know what can be achieved if I can take the action. I believe we all have free will and when given a message I am not fond of, I can do the work to change it or be more prepared for what may happen. There have been many experiences with psychics that have help formed the road I have chosen to take throughout my life and I continue to get readings.

I try to live by the thoughts that your higher self only wants you to achieve great things. Readings allow me to connect with that part of me that may not be heard so clearly or is clouded by the ego or fear. I also believe we can connect with our guides or loved ones that have passed. They have many insights that we can learn and grow from.

The service begins with a consultation about the cut you would like. This will begin with the discussion of what you do with your hair and what has worked and what you haven’t loved about it as well as your face shape and hair type. We will chat about what products you use (if any) and styling techniques you currently do.

Next we will talk about any areas in your body that may feel blocked or may be in pain. Depending on the clients needs, I will begin the Reiki or energy work before we head to the shampoo bowl, where we will continue the healing during the scalp massage. During this portion of the service I may get psychic feeling about what is needed.

After the shampoo and scalp treatment, we will move back to the stylist chair to begin the cut. Heat usually continues to resonate from my hands, which means the energy is still flowing as I cut your hair. By the end of the cutting portion, the healing is coming to an end. I will finish the cut after I have dried your hair. By finishing the cut after your hair is dry, this allows me to see how your hair is going to lay and what finial touches I need to make.

You will then leave the studio feeling tranquil and looking your best. It is a wonderful experience that marries a relaxing treatment with an essential service.

This service is not to replace consulting a physician. There is no claim to cure any physical condition and you should consult a physician if you are experiencing such ailments.

What are the benefits of Reiki or the energy work you may ask? It is magnificent for stress reduction as well as relaxation. The relaxation triggers the body’s natural healing abilities, and can improve and maintain optimum health. Reiki healing is a natural therapy that gently balances life energies and brings health and wellness to the recipient.

Everything we come in contact with including our own bodies are of pure energy. Reiki healing is working with the “Life Force Energy”. When it is combined with the sincere desire of the receiver, who is willing to embrace a clearing within their physical, emotional or spiritual consciousness, a total healing can occur.

When the flow of our energy is disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused from many circumstances occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger and anxiety. Nutritional depletion, destructive lifestyle and relationships can also create blocks.

Reiki is excellent for helping physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues of any kind and can accomplish wonderful results.

I am collecting your hair stories to post on my site. I am looking for your funniest or craziest hair stories to share with my readers. Everyone has at least one special hair story that is worth sharing a good laugh. These will be posted as anonymous stories to keep your reputation intact. The story can be about a crazy stylist you had or some wacky hairstyle you thought would be great but instead was scary and took awhile to grow out. A great haircut your mother gave you as a kid and tried to pass it off as the latest style. I know some of you have perm stories. Let’s hear them. This is my little way to bring some humor back during this time of stress and media freak out.
The story can also be about something you did to yourself such as the time I decided to tint my own lashes. I was too impatient to wait for my co-worker to do it for me when she had time so I decided to just do it before bed one night. I mixed the tint and slapped it on one eye with the other one open to see. As I applied my other eye by feel and hoped I got all the lashes, then without thinking I opened my eyes to make sure. Yes it burned a bit, but I was on a mission. I was on such a rampage to finish; I forgot a few steps, such as covering around my eye with a protective cream. I relaxed on my bed for 10 mins trying to “meditate” while my eyes were burning (because I opened them) through the processing time. I could feel the tears roll down my face but I knew it would be over soon. I finally rinsed them off and what a sight. I did have nice black lashes! Along with black streams stained down my cheeks and raccoon eyes. It took two days to come off even after scrubbing with everything from make-up remover to comet cleaning powder. So not only did I have black eyes, my skin was raw. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to reading all your great stories!

Why make a change with your look for 2009? Well why not is what I say! There are many new and improved styles to rock this new year. Having a new look with your old style can revitalize you during the cold dark winter months. We all need a “pick me up” during this time of year. The simple change of bangs can make all the difference. Another simple yet striking variation could be eyebrow shaping. For the blondies, why not consider an eyelash tint to brighten those light lashes and make your eyes pop without mascara.
The first cut I want to talk about is the bob. Yes, I said bob. It looks great on almost any face shape and can accent many color schemes. This is a tried and true style that is easy to manage with minimal effort. The bob can be very trendy or simple and classic. There is the Posh inverted style or a clean straight one length bob with bangs. The variation in between is endless. This is a cut that can be tailored for your hair type and face shape.
The “pixie” is back for the New Year also. Again Posh is the trend setter. You may not love her, but she has a great stylist that continues to reinvent her hair. This short hair style can also look great on many face shapes just by customizing it to accentuate your features.
The other option is to keep the style you have but fancy it up with some color. Just a few bright highlights around the face or a few peek a boo copper red panels to pop out of the natural brown. Color can be a fun way to just spruce you up as your natural hair seems darker during these winter months.
Regardless of what you choose to change, the point is just make one. During this time of uncertainty and stress regarding the fate of our country, we need something to brighten our own personal day. Make that happen for yourself. We all need something now!

I decided I would talk about bringing shine back to the hair after the summer weather have stripped our hair of the natural oils. Here is a great home remedy anyone can do after work or on the weekend. One of my favorite easy tricks is take about a quarter cup of oil of your choice (olive, almond, coconut, or avocado), apply to dry hair enough to saturate but not dripping. Put a shower cap over your head, but in a pinch I have used a plastic grocery bag, wrap a towel around your head over the shower cap. The towel allows the head from your head to stay in. Hang out for 30mins. Now it is time to SHAMPOO out the oil and condition as normal. This works great for coarse curly hair. With fine hair, you will be a little limp after so just get out the root lifter Jojoba oil is a better choice for fine hair because it is lighter oil. If you have the time and want to get fancy, you can add things to your oil such as a vitamin E capsule broken into oil before applying. Vitamin E helps promote scalp stimulation. Essential oils can be added as well depending on what you specifically need for your hair. Here is a short list of oils, what hair type and the oils benefit to the hair.

Basil: Oily hair. Promotes growth
Chamomile: Fine to normal hair. Gives golden highlights
Clary sage: All types of hair. Dandruff treatment
Lavender: Normal hair. Scalp treatment for itchiness, dandruff, and even lice!
Lemon: Oily hair. Gives golden highlights, treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and underactive sebaceous glands
Myrrh: Dry hair. Treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and underactive sebaceous glands
Patchouli: Oily hair. Dandruff treatment
Peppermint: Dry hair. Promotes hair growth
Rose: Fine hair. Soothes scalp
Rosemary: Oily hair. Dandruff treatment, promotes hair growth
Tea tree: Oily hair. Treatment for dry scalp, dandruff, lice, and underactive sebaceous glands
Ylang-ylang: Oily hair. Dandruff treatment
