I am collecting your hair stories to post on my site. I am looking for your funniest or craziest hair stories to share with my readers. Everyone has at least one special hair story that is worth sharing a good laugh. These will be posted as anonymous stories to keep your reputation intact. The story can be about a crazy stylist you had or some wacky hairstyle you thought would be great but instead was scary and took awhile to grow out. A great haircut your mother gave you as a kid and tried to pass it off as the latest style. I know some of you have perm stories. Let’s hear them. This is my little way to bring some humor back during this time of stress and media freak out.
The story can also be about something you did to yourself such as the time I decided to tint my own lashes. I was too impatient to wait for my co-worker to do it for me when she had time so I decided to just do it before bed one night. I mixed the tint and slapped it on one eye with the other one open to see. As I applied my other eye by feel and hoped I got all the lashes, then without thinking I opened my eyes to make sure. Yes it burned a bit, but I was on a mission. I was on such a rampage to finish; I forgot a few steps, such as covering around my eye with a protective cream. I relaxed on my bed for 10 mins trying to “meditate” while my eyes were burning (because I opened them) through the processing time. I could feel the tears roll down my face but I knew it would be over soon. I finally rinsed them off and what a sight. I did have nice black lashes! Along with black streams stained down my cheeks and raccoon eyes. It took two days to come off even after scrubbing with everything from make-up remover to comet cleaning powder. So not only did I have black eyes, my skin was raw. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to reading all your great stories!
Tonya has been cutting and coloring my hair for many years. She is first of all a great person, very warm and easy-going and not at all intimidating. I wear my hair short and although I color it I don’t want it to look “dyed”. Tonya is very careful with the cut, which for short hair is essential, and somehow she can think of ways to change the cut so I don’t get bored. She is also an amazing colorist. I have friends in other places that have finally had to let their hair go grey because they didn’t have a colorist who could make it look good as their hair got greyer and greyer. Tonya makes my hair look natural but “interesting” — various ways of foiling and adding additional color which add depth to my otherwise neutral brown hair. I end up referring people to Tonya because people always compliment me on my hair. It’s such a gift to have a stylist/colorist whose skill and taste I trust. I never worry about my hair–it is easy to keep up at home and nearly always looks good, and each time I get it cut and colored its a little refreshing zing in my life. I owe it all to Tonya.

Tonya has been my hairdresser for several years. To know that I can just show up, ask no questions, and find the perfect haircut on my head is amazing. Tonya takes the time to analyze the way my hair grows as well as listen to any suggestions I may have which may or not be do-able.
A few years back I had pink hair. On Halloween of that year, I decided to be normal so I wore a black wig. At my appointment in early November, I showed up to be greeted by Tonya with the following, ” I was thinking of you and think you might want to go dark. I pulled out a black wig that I had worn on Halloween. Not only did Tonya match color, but style of wig. Not only did I adore the cut and color, but all who met me did too.

I was referred to Tonya awhile ago by someone who knows how critical I tend to be. First off, it takes a special talent to tame my hair because it does have a mind of its own, and grooming has never been my strong point anyway. But when I leave Tonya’s chair I know I’m good to go. I can face the world with one piece of the puzzle taken care of. I’ve been impressed time and again not only with the end result, but also with Tonya’s ability to decode my ugly communication skills and understand the style I’m after. She’s a true artist and a consummate professional.

What is eye lash tinting you ask? This process consists of a simple procedure using a vegetable based dye to color your lashes. The process starts with using a protective cream around your eye to prevent staining of the skin. Next a small pad is placed under your eye to again protect the skin from stains. You then close your eye and the dye is applied. The color will process for about 10mins. The color is removed with water and once both eyes are rinsed, you are dark and lovely. The color usually lasts between four and six weeks.
With eyelash tinting, you can have dark, tantalizing eyes without ever using mascara.
This method has many benefits to a wide range of people. Those with blond hair that would like their lashes to stand out without mascara. Lash tints are great for people that swim or play sports and do not want to wear make-up. Eye lash tints are handy before a trip such as backpacking or going to the beach.
